In 1970 the Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association (RRVA) initiated a Scholarship Program with the objective of taking care of their own. Since its inception through fall 2015, the program awarded over 1130 grants for over $2,300,000 to the children and spouses of aircrew members from the Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Army. The River Rats have provided over $1.2 million in IRS 529 College Savings Plans for 161 children of fallen aviators through the Air Warrior Courage Foundation. Additionally, they have donated millions of dollars, and countless hours, to wounded warriors and their families at Military Medical Centers. All money raised goes to the Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association
